Private Bookmarks

Private bookmarks are an advanced bookmark management feature provided by BookmarkSync, allowing users to save bookmark content in the cloud that requires secondary verification to access.

Private bookmarks add a password protection layer on top of cloud bookmarks, suitable for saving URLs that need to be kept confidential:

  • Secondary Verification Access: Accessing private bookmarks requires entering a 6-digit password
  • Independent Storage Space: Completely isolated from normal browser bookmarks and cloud bookmarks
  • Category Management: Supports tree category structure to organize bookmarks
  • Search Function: Quickly find private bookmark content
  • Drag-and-Drop Sorting: Customize bookmark display order
  • Encrypted Storage: Data encrypted in cloud storage, even administrators cannot view

Common Questions

Q: What if I forget private bookmark password?

A: Private bookmark password cannot be reset or recovered. If you forget the password, the only solution is to clear all private bookmark data (will lose all private bookmark content). Recommend using password manager to keep safe.

Q: Do private bookmarks count toward storage quota?

A: Yes, private bookmarks count toward the 1000-item free storage quota. Private bookmarks and cloud bookmarks share storage quota.

Q: Can private bookmarks be exported?

A: Currently does not support export function. Private bookmarks are only stored in the cloud and require password verification to access.

Q: How to sync private bookmarks across multiple devices?

A: Multiple devices logged in with the same account will automatically sync private bookmark data, but each device needs to enter password verification on first access. After password verification passes, that device can normally view and manage private bookmarks.

Q: Are private bookmark password and login password the same?

A: No. Login password is used to log in to BookmarkSync account, private bookmark password is an additional secondary verification password, both are set and managed independently.

Q: Can I modify private bookmark password?

A: Current version does not support password modification function. Future versions may add this feature.
